Wilderness First Aid Course with Adult CPR Elective
Camp Canonicus, Exeter, RI - June 19-20, 2010
Student Responses
Below are some comments previous students had about Outdoor Adventure Corps offering of the American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Basics course.
- Great Wilderness First Aid Training. I really enjoyed the group and you did a great job of keeping it interesting and practical.
- The hands-on scenarios were great practice, better to make mistakes now and learn from them than to mess up in the real situation.
- Get ready to learn a lot - fast!
- I would recommend it for any Scout leader taking boys (or girls) into the woods.
- The scenarios provided opportunity to reinforce what was learned in the classroom by application.
- The scenarios provided a test run for the real thing. They gave you the opportunity to think through an emergency rather than during a real one.
- I like the "First Aid Goal" with each slide because they made it very clear to what extent we are able and capable of helping.
- I liked the outdoor and hands-on activities the most. They helped to cement knowledge learned in the classroom setting.
- Anyone who goest into an activity where delayed care situations might exist should strongly consider this course.
- Would strongly recommend to older Scouts.
- I liked the group simulations that got us to act out potential problems and how we developed ideas to solve the problems.
- It was a very interesting and informative class. It was even better because we had two instructors who had pretty much the same advice.
